On this Veteran's Day I want to share a quick story with you. My son's best friend Ian has been in Afghanistan for 8 months as a Marine. Well, it was time for Ian to come home and he was scheduled to return to our home town yesterday. My son, Kevin, arranged for a welcome home motorcade in Ian's honor. It was one of the most amazing sights I've ever seen. 54 motorcycles from three local organizations showed up along with our local Police, Fire, Public Works, and City Officials. I've never seen anything like it. The motorcade went lights and sirens and 54 loud (mostly) Harleys for over five miles, delivering Ian to his home on the back of one of our vintage firetrucks. When we arrived at his house the American Legion was there to greet Ian and they presented him with a Combat Cross. It was extremely touching and made me proud to be an American! I am so proud of my son for setting this all up and proud of Ian for serving our country. THANK YOU to all who made the event an incredible success and a heartfelt thank you to all of our Vets who have served in our Military. God Bless you all.
