Girly You Rock! Just Us Girls #16 - Color Challenge

Ooooh la la! Who likes a good color challenge? Well Ms. Kristin has cooked up a GOOD one for all of you. See what you think of these colors:

(Remember these are guidelines for your colors - use any colors you have that are close)

When working on a color challenge I almost always gather scraps of the colors in question first and start arranging them next to each other or away from each other to determine best placement (in my opinion) of which colors should go next to each other. This time was just more difficult for me - maybe because there were four colors? Or maybe because I think of burgundy and blush and vanilla in the warm family and gray in the cool family? Anyhow - this is what I finally put together:

I worked with SU's Bravo Burgundy and then I discovered that one of the In Bloom DPs from PTI matched wonderfully AND the flowers are a lovely blush color so it was the perfect patterned paper to work with for this challenge. I used SU Blush Blossom for my scalloped edge mat and for one of the focal image mats. I have seen several gals combining nestie shaped recently and so I layered my Nestied Label 4 with two plain ovals. I like the look.

For my sentiment I used the new Girly, You Rock from Signature Greetings by Dawn McVey sold by PTI.  I can't tell you how many times I use this phrase in my comments to fellow stampers - it's FAB to have it as a stamp and I love, love, love Dawn's handwriting. (Must be the ex teacher in me!)

I added my cuttlebugged gray CS as an accent strip then continued to pull the gray into the edge of my oval by using some Metallic Rub on Paste that I got from Gina K Designs - I LOVE how soft and subtle it is but how it adds a richness to the edges. I used the same rub on to color my sateen flowers (also Gina K) then added cream colored pearls to the center.

Hope you'll try your hand at this color challenge - be sure to link to Mr. Linky on the Just Us Girls site so we can see what YOU come up with. Thanks so much for making Just Us Girls wildly successful. We hope that it means you are loving our challenges. :-)

Now - pop on over to our Design Team girls (they are listed in my side bar) and see what they have for you. PLUS you'll for sure want to visit our January Featured Designer, Gabby Arriaza to see her project as well. Gabby has a fresh, fun take on cards and you'll enjoy visiting her blog for sure.

Thanks for stopping by - hope you have a fantastic weekend.
HUGS,

Pam, this card is amazingly beautiful! Love how you pulled the colors together (I use the same technique when I begin my card making process). Love those sateen flowers and the metallic rub on them. I have similar ones that I have to pull out again! Triple matted sentiment is a really cool touch! Lovely card all around!
