Easter Ideas

Many of you may know that I first started stamping almost 25 years ago. Well this little Easter Bunny is a stamp I've had for almost that long. I have not used it in a long time and thought I'd use it to make up some cards for this year. (Yeah I know - last minute!?!)
The image was colored with Copics which was GREAT compared to old markers I used to use. Three of the eggs are glittered. Sponged in some sky and green under the grass. The grass image comes from the With Sympathy set from Papertrey Ink. For the clear window I used the acetate that the Papertrey Stamps come on - it's very sturdy and I figured I'd have a use for it someday! It's almost the perfect size for an A2 card. I made both a "boy" and a "girl" version of the cards.

Next I thought I'd finish up a card I started as part of this month's Blog Hop with Papertrey. I used Papertrey's Wishing You set (one of my absolute faves) and Nichole's newly posted tip for tying a button to a bow. Oh my gosh I LOVED this tip! Really simple card but I wanted to dress up the inside a bit. After stamping the tinier tulips from the set I discovered that the oval flower center from PTI's Floral Frenzy made the perfect sized little "Easter eggs." And there you have it.

Wishing all of you a blessed Easter. Thanks for stopping by.

It's Clear to Me!

Well here I am - sitting in the airport - ready to fly to Germany to visit my daughter - I'm so excited to be going! Meanwhile Blog Hop was fun on PTI last night but I was trying to pack so I didn't get all my hoppin' done - I'll work on it.

I've been dying to try a clear card and have done a couple with transparency sheets but I just bought the clear cardstock from PTI which is much heavier and does a lovely job of holding up as base weight. SO - I cased Nichole's card and came up with one that's almost the same - it was harder than it looked but the end result is impressive in real life :-) I'll try an original design next.

Here's a shot of the inside, too. I tried hiding everything on the inside of the top card by using glue dots under the ribbon - the only adhesive that shows is from the very back where you can see the four glue dots on the corners but even that's not too bad.

Thanks for looking! I'll be back in a couple weeks to check out what everyone has been up to.

Blog Hop with Papertrey!

It's Blog Hop time again with Papertrey Ink! Woo Hoo! When I first read what the requirement was for this month (design my own background paper using PTI stamps) I thought "Oh no - I can never do that." I didn't even try to use my GuideLines 2 set, (I'm still a bit overwhelmed with it LOL) but I am so in love with the new Wishing You set that I decided to use that set to make my background design. It's simple and quick but that's all I had time for this week. Thanks for looking. Can't wait to see everyone's creations.
Here is the background I came up with. I scored diagonally with the scor-pal then inked up the dotted tulip and made a simple pattern.

I then put together this card using the new Hibiscus Pink with Ripe Avocado - a very rich color combo. I love this new Hibiscus Pink. The font in this set is divine! Thanks Melissa for another great set!

After I looked at this for a day or so I also used the same idea to create a really simple BG for a loss of pet sympathy card I needed for a friend. I forgot to take a pic of the BG before I turned it into the card but you get the idea - same technique - different image. This little add on set from PTI is WONDERFUL! Perfect set of sentiments to create a sweet card for anyone who has experienced losing a pet. Here's my card using the same concept.
