Candles make wonderful gifts

Good morning - by the time you are reading this it will be Christmas Eve for many of us. JUGS has a challenge for you again - Kathryn is our hostess and she wants you to make candle sleeves for pillar candles.

Now candle sleeves are quick and easy BUT I was running short on time like everyone else so I'm showing you a candle GIFT IDEA instead! One of my crafty friends, Kathy, is making altered candles as gifts for her friends - based on their interests! This set is for a friend who vacations at the beach every year. Isn't this wonderful???

She started with simple plain pillar candles, adhered some blue and green (sea colored) tissue paper with beeswax then used more beeswax to adhere the fun "stuff" to the pillars. She then melted additional beeswax to drip down the candles. Of course you could easily design a candle this with holiday trimmings as well.

Sorry I didn't have a holiday "sleeve" for you but I hope it will inspire you to get three dimensional this week and try something new! Please join us at JUGS this week.
