All Cooped Up? MTME February Release!!

Good morning stampin world! It's February 1 and that means it's time for a BRAND NEW release from My Time Made Easy . Oh you are going to love what Lauren has in store for you this month! So let's not delay - Here's my project for you featuring one of the new Pretty Packaging templates called Welcome Home along with the Pretty Impressions matching stamps from Critters With Heart. I have lots of photos for you so scroll all the way :-)

When I first saw this new  Pretty Printable Chicken Gingham digital paper from the set called Cute Critters AND I saw the Welcome Home template I just knew I wanted to make a "Chicken Coop" of sorts. I used my Cricut and SCAL software - by the way - a HUGE thank you to Canda from CandaCrafts for donating the SCAL software to the MTME design team - it is AMAZING!  Here's the coop - if you look closely at the chimney you'll even see a whiff of "smoke" coming out :-)  [I did cut off the chimney from the back side so this coop only has one chimney but in it's original format both front and back of house have a chimney.]

I had a lot of fun adding components to this to dress it up and make it cute.  I started by printing my cardstock as double sided - gingham on one side and polka dots on the reverse. Here are pics of the back and right side of the house:

As for some of the fron of the house details...I wanted one of the chickens to be "looking out the window" so I punched one out from a scrap of the chicken/gingham paper then adhered the window frame over it! The other window is supposed to be red gingham drapes :-) Finally, for the door I scored it first with my scor-pal for some texture and added a silver ball as the door handle and two more tiny silver balls for door hinges. Here's a close up of those details:

I added a double punched border at the bottom. Tied up the whole template with some great wired ribbon from Michaels and some brown dotted swiss satin and a little twine.

Next up - I made a matching tag to hang from the ribbons over the edge of the roof - with this matching set of Chicken stamps it was super easy to coordinate card, tag and template! Stamped the image in brwon Memento ink then colored the chicken with a couple of copics. Now the sentiment - "Just Chicken In" - isn't that the cutest??? :-)

Here's the card I made to match the chicken coop - using the same components, colors, paper and stamps:

The two chicks are from Critters with Heart acrylic stamp set - so cute! I had to decorate the inside of the card to go along with the whole idea and here's what I came up with - a "scene" of sorts...

This Welcome Home template is very generous in size -

I made the set for a friend who's under the weather - and what better to make someone feel better than with some chicken soup and tea?!? This Welcome Home template holds four packets of chicken noodle Cup O Soup  and 4 tea bags - (I'm SO Sorry - I forgot to photograph the box when it was open.)

So that's the first of several posts coming to share everything new from My Time Made Easy. Be SURE to pop over to the DT and see what everyone has to share - we've split up the items to bring you more variety on day one of the release but I'll have a new post tomorrow featuring yet another template - you'll want to be Chicken In (LOL) to see what else we have in store for you.
