Woodgrain Technique

A new technique tutorial from Gina K on Stamp TV today - how to create woodgrain backgrounds. I jumped right in cause I'm always looking for some masculine card ideas (although it doesn't HAVE to be masculine - Gina shows you a very lovely feminine card.) I did not go with the traditional wood colors but rather a monochromatic effect using one of my favorite SU lighthouse stamps.

THIS TECHNIQUE WAS SOOOOO EASY!!! You must try it.

I used SU Blue Bayou CS, vanilla pigment ink, SU Not Quite Navy for the woodgrain. Stamped the image on white CS with Not Quite Navy ink, added a Basic Gray scalloped mat for the focal image. Navy organdy ribbon topped with Blue Bayou (I think) and the nestie ribbon tag. The embellishment dots are deep navy with some sparklies in it - got them from Stampin Bella I think. Simple layout but loved the way the woodgrain turned out! Thanks Gina K.
