MTME February sneak peek!!

Hello blog friends. I know I've been a little quiet lately - but I actually all of a sudden have several posts for you.

It's time for our next sneak peek for the February release for My Time Made Easy. Lauren has done it again - a great new template - some stunning stamp sets - fabulous digital papers and intriguing cut files.

Today I have a great new card or candy box to share - in fact it's called Creative Card Candy. There is a mini version as well that would allow you to make a small box filled with mini cards or candies. I chose to go with a slightly different spin on this - I made some 3-1/2 x 7" long cards. Here's the top of the card box - don't you LOVE the words?  I thought this would make a lovely encouragement set of cards.

I started out by just playing with this GORGEOUS new stamp set called Bold Botanicals. I LOVE this set (I know I say this a lot but I do love the bold and beautiful images). Colored the images with Copics. Once I did that I knew that I wanted my final card design to be super CAS - I wanted the images to speak for themselves so my cards don't have ribbons or bows or buttons (ok I used a few pearls on two designs).

Now - the cool thing is - these cards can be used as fun vertical style cards with the words running up the side.

Or they can be set up as horizontal. It all depends on what I choose to put on the inside. I have not made a commitment to either direction yet. I might do a combo :-)

Here you can see the box opened up to reveal the cards inside.

Or change up the top card in the box for a different look:

One issue I had (and I could have kicked myself) was that when I put the ribbon on (it goes between the two layers) it wasn't long enough to tie a lovely bow when the box was closed (and at that point I was unwilling to start over so I made a knot - added a couple of tiny prima roses.) Oh well. I used 22 " of ribbon so if you make this template use more than that. :-)

Finally - this template can also stand quite nicely as if it were a book (just like the cards can go either direction) V E R S A T I L I T Y! Gotta love it!

I made custom envelopes for these -  I just made them from high quality printer paper. My problem - I made the cards and envies BEFORE I actually cut and assembled the template. The cards fit perfectly but with the envelopes they did not :-(  SO I will wrap up a set of envies with a ribbon to give with the set. Ah well - lesson learned LOL

Now - get on over to the following girls - they have a sneak peek for you today as well.

More to come in the next few days! Thanks for stopping by.

Pam this is a gorgeous gift set. The botanical stamps are beautiful and you have colored them so they look so real. I can't tell you how many times I have done that with ribbon and I usually have to start over!

What a beautiful set, Pam! The color combo is so fresh and pretty, and I love the elongated cards you made. Your coloring is superb ;]

I messed up on my ribbon also, but in an opposite way. I adhered my interior panel of cs before adding the ribbon, so I had to pull apart my scor taped paper, tuck a piece of ribbon inside on top and bottom and then tie it. In hindsight I'm glad that happened because I'm quite certain that based on your ribbon measurement, I would NOT have had enough had I done it correctly! LOL

I love the flower images! Your box turned out beautiful too. Thanks for the tip on how much ribbon it will take on it. But I like the idea you used with the little prima flowers.
