New Years Wishes from MTME & JUGS

Happy New Year! I cannot believe it's already 2011. Let's get the new year off to a great start. I am combining TWO events into this one post. It is January 1 and time for Lauren's new release from My Time Made Easy AND it's a Saturday which means it's time for the first Just Us Girls sketch challenge of 2011.  I know we've all been a little quiet, enjoying time with our families over the holidays but we're ready to go - are you??

It's my pleasure to introduce the newest MTME template called So Fortunate. It's a cleverly designed "chinese style" take out box and it's SO cute. I paired it with fabulous new digital papers designed by Kristin and an outstanding new stamp set from Catherine also called So Fortunate.

I used two of the new papers from the Fun and Fortune set.  I printed off the pink pattern onto white card stock to use for my template. The decorative panels were made from the beautiful paper called Blooms from the same set. I just love Cherry Blossoms and this paper is spectacular!

So many ways you can decorate this cutie and so many goodies you can put in it.  I decided to make a little coffee gift pack using some Keurig cups. Here's the before and after of my Kcups. To each cup I just added a bow, a prima rose and a top made from a couple of layers of papers finished off with the three sentiment stamps from the new stamp set.

The template is a nice size - three of these K-cups fit perfectly inside.

Here's the top of the closed box.  I added ribbon, primas and a leaf and then tied on a sweet tag too.

Detail of the stamped image from the front of the box:

NOW for a card to go with this cute gift box.  Just Us Girls has a sketch to kick off the new year so I decided to use the JUGS sketch to make my card to go with this set.  Here's the sketch from Kathryn.

I repeated the papers and used the same sweet image that I used on the front of the box.

I varied from the sketch just a little by hanging my sentiment on a tag from the ribbon instead of stamping it under the image but otherwise stayed pretty true.

I used the cherry blossom stamp from So Fortunate to stamp a sprig of blossoms on the inside of the card as well. These stamps are GORGEOUS!!!

A final look at the ensemble.

I hope you will kick off the new year and join us over at JUGS for the sketch challenge AND I hope you'll slip over to My Time Made Easy and check out the new template, papers and stamps.

Thanks for making 2010 a great year and for all of your kind and encouraging comments. My kids are going to be all over the world so I'm dealing with lots of "separation" and "empty nest" issues right now. My son moves to Dallas, my daughter leaves Germany but is going to Afghanistan and my step son will be studying in Australia. Talk about CHANGES!  My other daughter lives about 25 min. away so I hope she wants lots of mom company this year. :-)

Wishing you a year filled with laughter, love, hugs and smiles.
