Direct the Wind with JustRite Stampers

Hi gals,
Just a quick post to share a masculine card for my other brother. I made this for this week's Friday Challenge.  I used the JustRite Stampers By the Sea set - this is probably my favorite Just Rite set because it reminds me of my days of living at the beach.  I miss those days sometimes...

Here's my card (nestled in with my lighthouse that sits on my piano). I have a large collection of sea shells so it was easy to pick some "props" for this card.

Here's a closer look...

I chose a simple layout for this card and selected the sailboat image for my brother since we used to own a Hobie Cat sail boat - we launched it from the beach in front of our house and sailed it right through the waves out to the ocean and have wonderful memories of our time with the catamaran. I colored the sails in this image the same colors as our Hobie Cat sails - I think my bro will "get it".  The main image was cut with an oval nestie then matted with 2 more nestie layers. I love the sentiment frame that goes with this image - and it's a subtle reminder to my brother to not stress about some things in life that we have no control over but rather to focus on those things that we CAN adjust.

Here's a close up of the main image:

I chose the sea shell image from the set to make my bottom border - I just didn't use it with a border but instead stamped several in a row. I added a bit of hemp simply knotted and textured the blue BG with a PTI wood grain impression plate. For a final touch I added three large eyelets.

Here's the inside - using one of the new nested frame sets from JustRite called Cherish the Memories. (Thanks, Craig!!!)

The reminder again to my brother that we should, indeed, cherish the memories. We grew up in a wonderful, loving family and were blessed to have had our summers living at the beach. I'll never forget those years nor will my love of the sea ever diminish. S0 - here's to you brother! Love you! xoxo

Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs n smiles,

Lovely card, love the memory of the Hobie! DH has lovingly tried to get me to share that love of sailing....I love the water, the beach, the shells, the air, the smell, but am just not crazy about being out on a boat!!! Oh well, I am adjusting, and this is a lovely card that will evoke fond memories! How cool you were able to spend your summers on the beach too!

Great card Pam! I love the hint of orange for a color contrast. The navy and tan compliment each other so well.
