Just Us Girls Week 3 - Color Challenge

Wow girls - you totally rocked our new blog (Just Us Girls) last week! We already have more than 90 followers and we had 75+ participating entries last week for our first challenge on the new blog! AMAZING! Huge thank yous and hugs to everyone who helped support our new venture.  :-)    :-)    :-)

Alas, it is Saturday again - and time for another NEW challenge from Just Us Girls. This week the amazing Dana is our hostess and she has a fabulous color challenge for you: Aqua, Red and Cream. Although the colors referenced on our color graphic are PaperTrey colors, you may use any company's papers that are similar colors.

It has been really cold here in the Chicagoland area (especially considering that this is only October) so I was in the mood for working with a holiday or winter idea. (OK Dana you nudged me into it LOL.) Here's my card for this week's color challenge:

I love that I could combine stamps from both Gina K (Funky Christmas snowman and snowflakes) and PaperTrey (Snowfall sentiments).

I used all Papertrey papers per the color graphic and just worked with several layers. Cuttlebug snowflake and swiss dots embossing folders provided some texture. There are snowflakes stamped on the cream strip but are very soft and a little hard to see. The aqua mist ribbon really matches the paper beautifully but my camera was messing with the color so part of it looks a little "off". (sorry)

I used red as the accent throughout from the sponging to the framing to the embellishments. A little bit of Copic shading using BG000 to provide some dimension to the snowman (and to stick with the color challenge.) Again, it's hard to see but there is glitter on the snowman and bits of it on the cuttlebugged snowflakes as well.

Here's a detail shot of the snowman so maybe you can see a bit of the glitter.

To play along this week with the Color Challenge, create a new card and post it to your blog or online gallery, then provide a DIRECT link to your project on the Mr. Linky on the Just Us Girls Challenge site for JUGS3. Deadline to post to Mr. Linky to be considered for our "top pick" stamper called our "Chic of the Week"  is Thursday, October 22, 9:00 PM EST.  We will post the winner on the Just Us Girls blog on Friday Oct. 23.  I really hope you will play along!

Gorgeous layers and texture Pam! I love all of the embossing in the background and glitter accents. I'll bet those glittery sparkles are even more amazing IRL. You capture the spirit of the color challenge perfectly!

Pam - SUPER fun card -- I love the embossing -- and that snowman is just too cute :).

I love that you did a 'winter themed' card too -- that's what I originally thought of, but 'needed' a different kind of card ;).
