My Time Template Challenge MTTC

Woo Hoo - what a week and it's Saturday already - whew - teachers came back Thursday - kids come back Monday. So today we bring you another of Lauren Meader' s My Time to Create TEMPLATE Challenges. I was tickled pink to do this template challenge because 1. I LOVE Lauren's My Timeless Templates and 2. The theme was back to school and since I used to be a teacher I couldn't wait to play.

Come play along and link to Mr. Linky after you do.

Here's my project...
I worked with TWO templates this week. I used one of my faves, Captured Card Case, to hold a set of thank you cards (teachers ALWAYS need thank you notes). Then I also made the petite version of the new Tucked Away template. (oh my gosh this is SO, SO, SO cute!!!) I decorated each of the two templates with either Bitty Dot or Bitty Box paper in red and green. My focal image was from the Vintage Picnic using the apples topper (for a teacher) -- all the cards inside feature this set as well. A bit of ribbon, some Vintage buttons and some cool felt leaves were the final accent pieces to bring it all together. I also watched Lauren's video and just had to try the binder clip ribbon handle for the Tucked Away gift box. It is so easy and what an adorable addition to this already fabulous container.

Here's another shot of Tucked Away - with contents revealed. I know, as a teacher, that when we first report back to work in the fall our voices can take a real beating from all the talking we do. My throat used to get dry and, if not careful, I would also get laryngitis. So I tucked away a bag of Luden's Cherry Throat Drops into this cute little box - now isn't that a CUTE Package?!? (No bag needed for these gifts!!)

Captured Card Case holds 8 of these cards - 2 of each of the four main designs, a nice collection. The cards were all super simple layouts but with Vintage Picnic they look really impressive.

My matching card for the whole set, (the green one) uses a thank you sentiment (instead of the "for my teacher" from Vintage Picnic) because I wanted to give this to one of our teachers with thanks for all they do for the students in our district.

Now I know for a fact that our Design Team gals have also cooked up some special ideas to get your started. Be sure you play along with us and post your entry to the MR. LINKY (on Lauren's blog) so we can see your work. Lauren is planning to feature the top 5 entries on her blog sometime next week in her My Time to Shine feature. :-) Check out the other projects below:
