Polished Stone

This week on Stamp TV Gina K showed us how to do the Polished Stone technique. I had read about it before but never actually tried it. SO tonight I pulled out the materials and tried it - it was really fun and made an amazing background!

I used So Saffron and Always Artichoke inks then used a copper Adirondack mixative. This is what my polished stone looked like when I finished before I used it on my card:

Then this is what I created with it - I stamped the butterfly from Gina K's Take Flight set with Versamark onto vellum then embossed it with SU copper embossing powder. I stamped another butterfly in copper metallic ink onto vanilla CS - then used my nesties to cut and did some sponging with So Saffron. The vellum butterfly is mounted on top of the stamped one for a 3D effect but I couldn't get a good picture from the side - my camera disk was full and I have to back it up before I delete! I added copper card stock for matting, some Ivory Sateen Flowers (GinaK) and some amber bling to the flowers to create the final look.

Finally - I finished up with the theme and the sentiment on the inside. If you have not yet checked out StampTV do so and play along with all the fabulous challenges - prizes offered for every challenge :-)
Thanks for taking time to look - have a great weekend.
